The biggest myth out there is that the obvious is obvious. I can assure you it is not. Learn this and you can become wealthy. -Easy Anderson
What A Great Piece Of Advertising! I love America as there has never been a nation in all of history who has given so much opportunity to so many and done more for more people. It is truly the last bastion of nations where people truly are free. If you care about America Exceptionalism, America’s […]
Working with some great new clients that I know are going to really benefit from what we are doing with them and once again, a theme popped up as I was logging into my Twitter account.
What popped up is that small things have huge pay offs in a big, big, way. Like your Social Media for instance. I spend about 15 minutes a day on Social Media and yet, I get tons of referrals and business from it. I consider this a small thing with huge pay offs.
OK, I have said this before, but if you are going to put up a crappy Website that sucks, at least do it right. Please follow these 5 rules.
1.) Go ahead and have a mostly black or dark Website with white text if you really don’t want to sell anything.
2.) Put some lame ass logo that size of Texas right at the top that does nothing other than tell anyone visiting you care more about you then helping them. Make sure it is not the least bit intriguing or better yet, dollar signs or fast cars right at the top. Or better yet, a big old picture of you.
While I may be having some fun mixing metaphors, they both vividly describe cause and effect in a rather succinct manner.
Why You Need To Become Really Good At Being Unreasonable
One of my favorite quotes it this.
“Reasonable men adjust themselves to their environment. Unreasonable men attempt to change their environment to suit themselves. Therefore, all progress is the work of unreasonable men.” – George Bernard Shaw
Another old one of mine is this.
“ I have observed that those that can truly make up their own mind in the face of advice from others to the contrary and even those in league with their original thought and yet own the decision and its outcome, good, bad, or indifferent, are the only ones that end up owning themselves. They are also the only ones that lead truly great lives and in the end, make a difference for everyone, including themselves, detractors and supporters alike.” – Easy Anderson
IT’S ALL ABOUT CONTEXT
In the prior post, I briefly discussed the interesting twist to the structurist/free spirit dichotomy of the Organization People Pattern™ when it comes to time management. The concept of time management (and time management seminars) was created by structurists who don’t need it and was developed for free spirits who don’t want it. There is another aspect to this pattern to consider as well, now that you understand the distinction between the two types.
It is that the Organization People Pattern™ and all People Patterns™, for that matter, are highly contextual. Over the years, we have met all types of different people in a variety of situations and contexts in work and at home. Most individuals are either decidedly, proud structurists or else are at the other end of the spectrum as blatant, in your face free spirits. There are some cases, however where individuals exhibit one proclivity in one context of their lives, and the opposite pattern in another context of their lives.
The reason that time management workshops or seminars are a waste of time for some is that structurists don’t need them and free spirits don’t want them. Where you are coming from is based on the Organization People Pattern™. As you may recall from past articles, this People Pattern™ determines how an individual deals with structure. This critical pattern reveals how we organize time and space in our lives and becomes really important because the place out of which we operate happens to affect how we make decisions.
So, you have decided that you want to break out of the mold and start your own Business or Muse ( i.e. The 4 Hour Workweek)? Perhaps you have been forced to because your Job sucks or you were laid off and now you are going to start you Muse and take a shot at going from the 50 hour workweek and shoot for the 4 hour workweek? Well, while most people prepare and plan for their business, they don’t plan for what this is going to do for their relationships with the people they care for and love, or even like. I have to add, even the ones that you don’t like. 🙂
In navigating several start-ups, I was not prepared for the dramatic change that transpires with the people you know once you decide to embark on the journey to start your own business.
I used to have a blog that discussed investments. I took the site down about 18 months ago because I had too many things going on, but I want to bring the four things that I was very high on investment wise at the time.
Gold, Silver, Oil, and Apple Computers.
Let’s us start with Apple. I was talking to people about purchasing Apple Call options in the 100’s a couple of years out and predicting that you would make over 50%. Well, how about making 500%.
